recipe: creamy and creamless stroganoff

creamy and creamless stroganoffi love beef stroganoff but i’m not a fan of sour cream. this pressure cooker recipe is perfect since you cook everything first and then add the sour cream afterwards so you can have it with or without! another option for those who are not a fan of sour cream but want a creamy version, use greek yogurt!

  • pressure cooker


  • sdltd-plp_1674363 Tsp vegetable oil
  • 1-1/4 pound sirloin steak
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 8 ounces button mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/2 cup stock
  • 1 Tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp minced chives
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tsp chopped parsley
  • sour cream -or- greek yogurt, optional


with the pressure cooker set to saute, heat oil and then place steak and onion in the pressure cooker. cook until steak is lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

add mushrooms, stock, lemon juice, chives and pepper. lock pressure cooker and set on manual in high pressure for 15 minutes.

let pressure release naturally for 5 minutes before performing a quick release. add parsley and salt to taste. if adding sour cream or greek yogurt, add it at the end as well!
