grilled chicken with tamari and orange sauceafter making the grilled mahi mahi with tamari and orange sauce, i had a lot of sauce leftover and i didn’t want to waste it so i saved it for another dish. i picked up some chicken breast and asparagus and dipped them in the leftover tamari and orange sauce. score! with the sauce on the grill, i was able to dilute it and lightly fry some leftover rice with the flavor. recipe: red lentil chili

red lentil chili

i happen to have a bag of red lentils but had not decided what to make with it . then i opened my first pressure cooker and found this recipe in the cookbook that came with the cooker. it was the perfect way to break in my new machine.

i modified the recipe so my little one could have some (i.e. the chili powder, crushed pepper and smoked paprika) and I skipped the dates because I didn’t think the recipe needed the added sweetness. the result is still a hearty, delicious chili that we all enjoyed together. i never had any interest in making my own tomato sauce before but since the little one has a garlic allergy, i needed to learn. online i found a flexible recipe that allows you to add any ingredient you choose. it was perfect for those with allergies.

recipe: italian seasoned steamed vegetables

it is my first attempt of seasoning k’s food and when better than for a happy holiday occasion? italian seasoning seems like a safe bet. hope k likes it!
