sweet and homemade soul spot

today was brooklyn’s annual atlantic antic. unfortunately i didn’t get a chance to go. i happened to pass by when the booths were closing and saw a group of people still purchasing food from the stand from this restaurant so i had dinner inside the restaurant.

for a little over $10, you get a large plateful of food with a meat with 2 sides. i got the jerk chicken with mac & cheese and sweet corn. m got the ox tail with candied sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. each plate came with corn bread and a drink. my dish was pretty good – the jerk chicken was nice and spicy, mac & cheese was rich and delicious, and corn was sweet. i also tasted m’s candied sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. it was decadent and yummy!

we really enjoyed the soul spot. i look forward to going back but since it is very rich food, we’ll only be able to go once in a blue moon. we’ll sure enjoy it when we do!
