add omega-3

usually when i think of good fat, i think of avocado and salmon but there are other food choices that contain healthy omega-3 fats.

These polyunsaturated fats, which play a crucial role in how your body’s cells function, have been shown to reduce harmful inflammation that could lead to heart disease, decrease triglyceride levels and blood pressure, and prevent fatal heart arrhythmias.

since our body doesn’t produce omega-3s, we have to add them to our diet. these some foods that boost up omega-3 fats:

  1. Seafood:
    salmon (atlantic, chinook, coho), anchovies, bluefin tuna, sardines, trout
  2. Oils:
    flaxseed oil, canola oil, soybean oil
  3. Beans:
    kidney, pinto and mungo beans
  4. Nuts & Seeds:
    walnuts or flaxseed
  5. Spinach
  6. Winter squash
  7. Broccoli and Cauliflower
  8. Dietary supplements
