we were in the forest hills hood so i looked up a new restaurant to try and this place popped up. this asian fusion restaurant has a bit of each asian cuisine with a twist all the way down to its themed décor with japanese abacus, buddha sculpture and quotes of wisdom.
probably what caught my attention when i read about this restaurant was a reviewer’s recommendation of the wok-charred edamame … edamame boiled, then toasted with miso paste … creative. even more impressive was the wok-charred chow fun – change the greasy chinatown version to a surprisingly healthier and tastier improvement! equally delicious was the thai seafood salad, white chocolate wontons, warm apple cake and hazelnut mousse. each dessert was paired with a heaping spoonful of ice cream or sorbet. to sum up … YUM!
jade is right across from the forest hills long island railroad stop and by the entrance to the forest hills gardens. it has a nice seating area outside, a spacious dining area and a separate private room. after seeing the space, m & i thought it would be fun to throw a party there and then we find out, we’ll be going to a party there soon!
