you’ve probably heard that some cultures speak with their food. i’d agree and tell you that taiwan is one of them! when you greet someone in tw, people ask you: “have you eaten?” instead of “hi, how are you?”
partly because i don’t visit that often and partly because a lot of my relatives still live in tw, meal time has dishes and dishes and dishes of food! i used to be jealoused of thanksgivings in the states because mine usually only consist of my immediate family.
for me, dinner in tw is thanksgiving everyday.
